Hello, Beautiful Humans!

After a hiatus from Buffalo, Sh*tty Hawkins is back, baby! Why do we lovingly call our fundraising persona “Shitty Hawkins”? The cheeky name parodies Sadie Hawkins dances of the past, but breaks the binary that those gatherings upheld. Sh*tty was founded by our first salon (@crownbflo), and we’re back to carry on our tradition in the 716. We have long been working to steer the hair industry away from a gender binary. Love is love. Hair is hair. Expression is everything. And fundraising should be fun, so we are raising funds for our local LGBTQIA2S+ community.

Our first iteration was in 2018, and since then, we have raised over $21,000 holding these parties! This will be our 9th event. Visit our Insta for party recaps + totals raised. This event’s beneficiary will be The Pride Center of WNY.

Join us in making this October 26th a success! Ironworks was gracious to again donate their venue for the evening. The way this works is that we take in and donate 100% of the admission fee to our beneficiary. Ironworks gets to keep the bar income from the night, in order to give us a staffed venue at no cost.

Each Sh*tty includes live performers, DJ sets, party favors, prize bundles, a photo area, as well as the famous Dance-Off, which is always the height of the evening. We bring in our own media folx, and recap each event.

Here is where you can step in: If you are able, what we are asking for are any prize(s) – big or small – that can be incorporated into one of the 3 prize packages. There will be 2 Dance-Off prize bundles, and a door prize.

We also will be kicking off a new tradition: an Art Scavenger Hunt within the venue during the evening. Additionally, if we are able to hang a poster in your business, please let us know. Each prize package or art piece for the hunt donated will include donor information like business cards, social handles, etc to bring awareness to your amazing ally business. All prizes would need to be in our hands no later than October 24th, and we can arrange pickup for these items.
